North Penn School District Office of School and Community Engagement Receives Several Awards for Publications
The North Penn School District (NPSD) Office of School and Community Engagement has received several awards from the Pennsylvania School Public Relations Association (PenSPRA) as part of its annual Excellence in Education Communication Contest.
North Penn earned seven awards total, with two Awards of Excellence, two Awards of Honor, and three Awards of Merit. PenSPRA’s Communications Contest gives professionals in school communications an opportunity to showcase their work throughout the school year. This year, eligible categories for submission included Graphic Design, Photography, Publications, Website & Apps, Writing, Crisis Management, Videos, and Social Media. Judging was conducted by a panel of independent professionals, who provide all contestants with feedback after the contest has concluded.
The highest honor, an Award of Excellence, was earned twice in the Publications category by Erika Shaedle, NPSD Advertising and Marketing Specialist, for the NPSD Annual Report 2021-2022 and the NPSD Activities Calendar 2022-2023. Shaedle also earned an Award of Merit in the Publications category for the NPSD Educational Foundation Annual Report.
NPSD Coordinator of Communications, Bob Gillmer, earned three awards in the Videos category, two Awards of Honor for North Penn Right Now and Elevate and Exceed Expectations, and an Award of Merit for Do You Want to Call a Snow Day? Additionally, Gillmer earned an Award of Merit in the Social Media category for the Superintendent Live Series.
“Communicating with our community is always a priority for North Penn,” said Christine Liberaski, Director of School and Community Engagement. “We are proud of the awards achieved, but even prouder of the student and staff accomplishments that our publications and videos highlight.”
