Twelve North Penn orchestra students successfully auditioned for the 2022 Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) District 11 orchestra. District 11 invites students from Bucks and Montgomery counties to audition for an ensemble comprised of the best music students in the region. These students will perform in a festival held at Perkiomen Valley High School from January 25-27, 2023.
To audition for District 11 orchestra, students must play pre-selected scales, a solo piece, and a sight-reading exercise. Judges then selected students to participate in the honor orchestra based on their audition scores.
“North Penn orchestra students are extremely dedicated and hard working, and we are very proud of those who made the District 11 orchestra,” said Erica Millbourne, Orchestra Director at North Penn High School and Penndale Middle School. “These twelve students are a wonderful representation of the excellence coming out of the North Penn music program.”
PMEA is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the musical development of all Pennsylvanians. The organization promotes and supports quality music education, learning, and performance, as well as music education in schools and communities.
