Now is the time when we are seeing many coughs, colds, sore throats, and runny noses. Please remind your child that the very best way to prevent a cold or the flu is to wash hands frequently. In addition, if you send in cough drops for your child, please know that we consider them to be medication and would need to have written parental permission to dispense the cough drop. The cold weather also necessitates that your child wear appropriate clothing. Hats, scarves, gloves, mittens, and warm coats are needed for play at recess.

Remember to keep us informed about any changes in your child's health. Medical concerns, such as a new medication, could have an impact on education. Your child's teacher should be made aware if a medication or condition will have an effect on your child's learning.

Also remember to keep us informed of any changes in home, work, or cell phone numbers. If your child is sick or injured, we want to notify you as quickly as possible but we can't do this if we don't have the correct numbers.

Things are frequently "jumping" in the health suite but we always have time for your questions, comments, and concerns. We can be reached via voicemail, e-mail, notes, or in-person visits. Don't hesitate to contact us; we'll do our best to get back to you as soon as possible.
